The Short Stack
3.1 miles · One loop · Done by breakfast

GOOD RUNS·BETTER PANCAKES·GREAT PEOPLE
A 5K, a last-runner-standing ultra, and a very long breakfast — starting and finishing at Crooked Smile. Every bib benefits His Table Pakistan.
Pick your stack
Both start at Crooked Smile. Both end in pancakes. Only one of them ends today.
3.1 miles · One loop · Done by breakfast
One lap of the course, at whatever pace makes you happy. Then you sit down to a hot stack and cheer on the ultra runners — who will still be out there for a very, very long time.
5K every hour · On the hour · 10-hour cap
Every hour, on the hour, the bell rings and everyone runs the same 5K. Finish early and the rest of the hour is yours — eat, stretch, reconsider. Miss a bell and you're out. Last runner standing takes the Golden Spatula — and if more than one of you is still going at ten hours, we stop, split the glory, and eat.
Last runner standing
It's not about being fast. It's about answering the bell one more time than everybody else.
Every hour, on the hour, everyone on the course starts the same 5K loop together.
Finish in 40 minutes and you've got 20 to eat, stretch, and question your choices.
No shame in it. Your consolation prize is a hot stack and a very good seat.
They get the Golden Spatula. If more than one runner answers the tenth bell, the race ends there and the glory is split. Everyone else already had pancakes, so really, everyone wins.
The bell rings at the top of every hour — next one in --:--
Every bell you answer adds a pancake to your stack. The tenth bell is the cap — 31 miles, a full 50K. Outlast the field before then, or split the crown at the griddle.

Fine print, lightly buttered
Late February or early March — the exact date is being finalized. Put your name on the list above and you'll get first word the moment it's announced.
Absolutely not. The Short Stack 5K is one loop and done — most people run it, eat, and spend the rest of the morning heckling the Tall Stack field with love.
Up to ten hours. Every hour is a fresh 5K and the field only shrinks — but if more than one runner answers the tenth bell, we call it there: 31 miles, a shared crown, and pancakes for everyone.
Yes. This is not a metaphor. Every registration includes pancakes at the finish, and the griddle runs all morning for everyone else.
Yes — the Social is open to spectators, families, and people who consider running a spectator sport. Come hungry, cheer loud.
The course starts and finishes at Crooked Smile. The full address, course map, and parking details land with registration.

The Awards
The Golden Spatula for the last runner standing — plus superlatives for best flip, best outfit, and most pancakes eaten mid-race.
